An 18th century Chinoiserie red and black lacquered gold heightened cabinet on stand, the twin hinged doors enclosing an internal arrangement of drawers, with simple ring loops, on a base formed of four square sectioned supports to stepped feet, height 157.5cm, width 99cm, depth 48cm.Provenance: The contents of a Cheshire Country House.Additional InformationAs you would expect from a piece of this age, there are historic areas of damage, including some splits to the doors, small sections of timber around the upper brass plate missing. Some scuffs and knocks to both the internal and external lacquer. The stands is probably a 19th century associated example, but overall retains a good colour.Please refer to additional images showing side view of the front. The door is not warped as suspected.
