China Republic Hsu Shih-chang "Pavilion" Dollar Year 10 (1921)

China
Republic Hsu Shih-chang "Pavilion" Dollar Year 10 (1921) MS62 NGC, Tientsin mint, Kann-676, L&M-864, WS-0101. Reeded edge. Issued to commemorate the succession of Hsu Shih-chang to the office of President in 1918, and in celebration of his 67th birthday. An important rarity in the Chinese Republic series, and sought after in all grades, this example exhibits lightly mottled toning over lustrous fields, the overall preservation definitively Mint State. The strike is sharp, with only a touch of rub visible to the very tip of Hsu Shih-chang's nose and otherwise clean features that stand in sharp contrast against the lower-lying regions.
