GAULLE Charles de (1890-1970). Autograph MANUSCRIT, [1926], and P.A.S. "C.G.", 17.X.1960; 1 page in-4, and half page in-8 on his letterhead General de Gaulle (small traces of scotch).
"Last handwritten page of Le Prestige, a lecture given at the Ecole de Guerre in 1926 that became a chapter of Le Fil de l'Epee" [1932], explains the 1960 note.
The 1926 manuscript is overloaded with erasures and corrections: "Like those plants in the waters whose moving growth Francois de Curel evoked and which strive towards the surface where the light calls them to bloom, so the French army, hesitant in the darkness, will seek, by rising above itself, the warmth and clarity of prestige. Hard work, but for sure, it will taste the reward, since there must be a sun! "
