Victor Pasmore CH.,CBE, (1908-1998) - abstract composition, signed artist's proof, signed with the artist initials and dated 79 (1979) also numbered 39/70, coloured aqua tinted print, 31.25" x 46.5" **Born Chelsham, Surrey, he studied in Oxford and attended The Central School of Art, he was associated with the formation of The Euston Road School after experimenting with abstraction, he worked for a time in lyrical figurative style painting views of The River Thames from Hammersmith in the style of Turner and Whistler. In the WWII he was a conscientious abjecter  but was eventually called up for military service in 1942, he received orders and was court marshalled and sentenced to one hundred and twenty three days imprisonment. The artist's break into abstract art was inspired by the artist Mondrian and Klee. Was also influenced by the artist Ben Nicholson.
