A graduate of Shirayuri University (Tokyo) and the École du Louvre (1978-1979), Akiko Toriumi lives and works in Paris, where she has exhibited since 1987. Her works are held at the Bibliothèque nationale de France and the Bibliothèque d'Auxerre.
