Robert Seignior, Londini, a Charles II oyster veneered longcase clock the brass square 9.5in. dial with winged mask spandrels, silvered roman and arabic chapter ring, matted centre with seconds dial and calendar aperture, twin winding holes, inscribed 'Robert Seignior, Londini', eight-day movement, striking on a bell, the hood with broken architectural cornice beneath a carved mask and rosette pediment, the door with integral spiral pillars and Corinthian capitals, the case oyster veneered in panels throughout within crossbanded walnut borders the waist door with lenticle and inlaid with stars, on a plinth, 84in. high, c.1670 (see illustration)
